How does a floorplan service work?

During a home measurement or floorplan service, an appraiser takes measurements of the home or property with a measuring tool — either a tape measure or laser measuring device. As they move around the home, they note the layout of the rooms and other features, like closets, hallways, and pantries. They might sketch out the property. Then, the appraiser writes up a report and detailed floorplan showing the total area of the house and the general layout.
